Deltona’s CROP Walk and Parade of Food

Deltona’s CROP Walk and Parade of Food  for hunger is scheduled for Sunday, March 21, 2010 at Deltona Christian Church, 960 E. Normandy Blvd, Deltona. CROP Walks are organized and promoted by Church World Service.  The walk and parade of food (non-perishable foods) will raise awareness of the millions of people in crisis who must look to and for help to meet their daily food needs.

Families and individuals, churches and youth groups are encouraged to participate by collecting money through sponsors.  Registration will begin at 1:30 pm at Deltona Christian Church fellowship hall.  The CROP Walk and parade of cans will begin at 2 p. m.  Walkers will walk 2 miles to the Community Life Center located at  1691 Providence Blvd, where they will receive a tour of the outreach center who will benefit from the event, leave their generous donations of non-perishable foods and return to Deltona Christian Church. (Round trip is 4 miles)  

Those who want to participate but cannot walk that far can choose a 1 mile walk around the church.

A $25 gift certificate from Wal-Mart will be given for the most creative vehicle to carry the non-perishable donations i.e. decorated wagons, strollers, wheel barrels, etc. during the walk.   The gift certificate is sponsored by Community Life Worship Center who meets at the Deltona Christian Church Fellowship Hall.
